48 Hour Film Slam

Tap Into Film – 48 Hour Film Slam inspires a weekend of video creativity in St. Johnsbury.

Brave Boy won Best Film for a the middle school team!

Congratulations winners! After an intense and inspiring weekend, prizes were awarded to the best of the 48 Hour Film Slam. Teams of middle school, high school and college students competed in this annual event to develop, film and edit a film. The 48 Hour Film Slam is presented by Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury’s arts center and regional box office, and the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA).

Teams of 3-5 young filmmakers came together last weekend to write, direct, edit and premiere a short film in just two days. In the end, a winner was selected from each category by industry professionals for a cash prize — the top prize was $1000! All scripting, shooting and editing must take place within the 48 hours, so teams must have spontaneity, time management and lots of ingenuity! Although the event is competitive, the environment is welcoming, supportive, and most importantly, fun.

All films were shown at Fuller Hall on Sunday, April 3.
