St. Johnsbury History & Heritage

The St. Johnsbury History & Heritage Center recently received a $3,050 grant from the Vermont Community Foundation’s Northeast Kingdom Fund. The grant will help further the Center’s mission to preserve historic collections and provide educational programs. The grant’s funds will allow the Center to enhance visitors’ experiences through an interactive display complimenting and showcasing newly acquired collections on exhibit and their historical importance to St. Johnsbury and the surrounding area. This display will delve deeper into these collections offering further information to make their history come alive.

Peggy Pearl, director of the History & Heritage Center, said “We are grateful to Vermont Community Foundation‘s Northeast Kingdom Fund for this grant. This will allow us to provide an audiovisual exhibit highlighting some of St. Johnsbury’s past and present history. We look forward to creating historical vignettes about St. Johnsbury Trucking, E&T Fairbanks Company, and Maple Grove as examples of St. Johnsbury’s rich and present history. ”
